Q: What about security and confidentiality?
A: We really take care of our customers information. Your projects and tasks are password protected, we will not sell or share any of your data. No one will be able to access your data unless you grant permission. Please read our
privacy statement for further information.
Q: What about availablity and backups?
A: timr is hosted on a highly available and scalable state-of-the-art server with mirrored hard disks. All your data will be backed up periodically on a remote storage system for maximum security.
Q: What is the Identifier used for?
A: The Identifier is the unique name for your timr client. You can access your timr via http://yourIdentifier.timr.com. This address can be bookmarked which provides you and your employees with immediate timr access.
Q: Where can I download the BlackBerry client?
A: Simply open
http://timr.com/download/ in the browser on your BlackBerry and follow the download link.
Q: Where can I download the iPhone client?
A: You can download the iPhone client on the App Store. Simply click
here or search for “iTimr”.
Q: Where can I download the Windows Mobile client?
A: Simply open
http://timr.com/download/wm in the browser on your mobile phone and follow the download link.
Q: How can I configure my BlackBerry client?
A: Please open the ‘Options’ menu of you BlackBerry device. Go to the ‘timr Options’ and make the following settings:
- Identifier = your timr identifier
- Login = your timr login (username)
- Password = your timr password
- URL = timr.com
use BES: Check this checkbox to connect to timr through your BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Uncheck this option if you are using the BlackBerry internet service. If timr cannot connect to the server during startup, you should choose the opposite option. You can also ask the BlackBerry system administrator in your company if you are not sure whether your company runs a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, or not.
Q: How can I configure my iPhone client?
A: Please open the ‘Settings’ menu of you iPhone device. Go to ‘iTimr’ and make the following settings:
- Identifier = your timr identifier
- Login = your timr login (username)
- Password = your timr password
- URL = timr.com
Q: What about data transfer costs on my mobile device?
A: With timr you have a native application for your phone. Due to this fact, the mobile traffic is as small as possible because you don’t have to load a complete website. Only the real time tracking data will be transmitted on starting timr as well as starting or stopping time tracking. No images and other stuff have to be downloaded, this makes timr fast and reduces your mobile data traffic costs. If you are not sure about your mobile data traffic costs please contact your mobile service provider for further information.
Q: BlackBerry client is not able to connect to server?
A: Follow the instructions under “Q: How can I configure my BlackBerry client?” – If you still have problems to connect configure the correct APN for your carrier under BlackBerry Options -> Advanced Options -> TCP/IP. You can find the APN settings on
the help page for Opera Mini.
Q: What about other mobile clients (Symbian/Nokia, …)?
A: We are planning to release native clients for other mobile systems as soon as possible. Please go to the
Contact page and write us a message or an email to vote for your favorite client.
Q: Is it possible to customize timr to my company’s requirements?
A: The good answer is yes! We also offer a timr Enterprise Edition which can be adapted to your needs. Just go to the
Contact page and write us a message or an email. timr Enterprise seamlessly integrates into your existing environment!
Q: How can I change a password?
A: To change your password click on your username on the top right of the window next to the logout link. The administrator is able to change the password of a user on the administration page by clicking with the right mouse button on a user and selecting “Edit User”.
